The Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) was established by Law No. 30 of 2019 and is the entity responsible for managing the urban planning and transport sectors, and three regional municipalities.
As the entity responsible for supporting the growth and urban development of Abu Dhabi Emirate, the DMT guides, regulates and monitors urban development activities. The expert authority improves municipal work to provide comprehensive services and creates higher living standards for residents through the supervision and management of the municipalities.

Abu Dhabi Distribution Company (ADDC) plans, operates, maintains and owns network distribution assets and directly interfaces with water and electricity customers in Abu Dhabi’s central and Al Dhafra regions, leveraging technical expertise and best-practice customer-care solutions.
Through innovation and continuous enhancements, ADDC ensures water and electricity flow to more than 600,000 service points through a smart, robust, efficient and sustainable distribution network.
ADDC is a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA).
The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) has been established pursuant to the law issued by the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on November 2016, in amendment of Law no. 19 of 2006 regarding Taxi regulation in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. ITC is affiliated with the Department of Municipalities and Transport and is supervised by it.
ITC is the responsible entity for operating public transport and managing parking spaces, traffic monitoring centres, axle weights stations, logistical facilities of freight surface transport and roads sector according to the approved transport plans in which improves the quality of services offered in the sector. Department of Health – Abu Dhabi is the regulative body of the Healthcare Sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and ensures excellence in Healthcare for the community by monitoring the health status of the population.

Abu Dhabi Agriculture & Food Safety Authority is the local authority in charge of agriculture, food safety, food security and biosecurity in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. It aims to develop a sustainable agriculture and food sector and protect the health of animals and plants to enhance the biosecurity and achieve food security. In addition, the authority is responsible for preparing plans, programs and activities in the field of agriculture, food safety and food security.
The authority is assigned to control and inspect the Emirate’s food and agriculture establishments, farms, agricultural inputs, imported and exported food and agricultural items or those produced in the country and circulated in the Emirate, to ensure the access of safe food to the community. It also supervises the establishment and management of emergency food reserves in cooperation with the competent authorities.

Abu Dhabi Sewerage Services Company (ADSSC) was established in 2005 to collect and treat wastewater discharged from all residential and commercial customers in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and safely reuse both the solid and liquid waste thereof. ADWEA is the responsible for the water and power industries in the Emirates of Abu Dhabi. Existing generation, desalination, transmission and distribution facilities within Abu Dhabi are currently owned and operated by the government through ADWEA.
